Mr Hiho was amazing at our first CCI** at Houghton Horse Trials – 5th after dressage (out of approximately 100), superb cross country except one little steering error which resulted in 20 pens, and one show jump down – so despite my annoying steering error I was over the moon! He was brilliant around the track which was causing lots of problems, and popped straight through the influential water. So I have entirely myself to blame as he didn’t put a foot wrong… which although it was extremely devastating at the time, it is all good character building!
This was a level above the Junior Europeans so fingers crossed the selectors were impressed. He is having a little rest now and then is going to pick up ready for Salperton, Barbury and then the Intermediate Championships at Gatcombe – so it will be a very exciting bunch of events!
I have nearly finished my GCSE’s having done seven so far and only got maths left, so that is extremely exciting! My Chemistry exam was on the Thursday of Houghton so I had to especially ask for Friday dressage times otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to compete – but luckily it all worked out!
My two 5 year olds (Miss Indigo and Charlemagne) are just picking up work now after having a little rest, and I will aim them for Stonar, Nutwell and West Buckland later on in June and July.
So fingers crossed for everything! x
