Week 4

For week 2 of Dress Making (or “Sewing School” as it is affectionately being called) we set about checking measurements and cutting out our patterns as well as comparing patterns with each other. What I thought to be a simple pattern turned out to contain, what felt like, the most pattern pieces in the class, so I set about with my scissors and snipped out the pattern. 

As a spot of homework I spent Sunday afternoon ironing, but not catching up on the laundry! I ironed all the creases out of the pattern (and managed not to burn it) and then started to lay up the pattern pieces, learning quite quickly the best way to end up without my hand looking like a pin cushion.
