Messing about on water; it’s said to be one of life’s great pleasures. We couldn’t agree more, so we packed our bags and headed to Lake Windermere for our latest photo shoot. It proved to be the perfect location for our Lake, Paddle and Stroll autumn phase.
Lake Windermere is situated in the (beyond) picturesque Lake District which is also home to Seathwaite, the wettest inhabited place in the UK. Perfect for shooting our new welly and Right as Rain collections, so umbrellas at the ready and off we went.
The weather was actually on our side with plenty of sunshine and fine days. Our team stayed all together in a beautiful house, so editing the day’s images was done overlooking the lake. An incredibly good day in the ‘office’, you could say. The tyre swing that features in some of the children’s shots was set up by Aaron from the production team, the tree was high enough for all the adults to have a go between shoots.
A bonfire night scene was scheduled, shoot director Sara explained that the day chosen for the night shoot was, ‘unfortunately, the longest day, so it didn’t get dark until after 10pm. Marshmallows, toffee apples and real hot chocolate fuelled the children, they had no plans for going to bed!’
Nina our stylist for the shoot is also a Pilates instructor, the team got up early one morning for an on-location session. Our art director Charlotte thought it would be easy and gentle – she ached for days.
We had a lucky mascot too, a little swan who followed the team around the lakeside from location to location each day. We would have brought him home if we could have…
Where do you think we should shoot our Christmas collection?
