Bright red jam tarts in 5 steps with Higgidy Pies

7th October 2016

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Higgidy Pies to get you back in the baking mood (incase you’re not already) with these bright red jam tarts.

Easy to bake with children and delicious to eat for all, watch the video and follow the five simple steps below for a perfect afternoon treat.

Ingredients:

  • Approx. 350g readymade pastry
  • A little plain flour for dusting
  • 6 tbsp good quality raspberry jam
  • 150g fresh raspberries

Method:

  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry to about the thickness of a one pound coin.
  2. Cut out as many 7cm circles as you can and use to line the holes in a bun tin or two. Chill for 30 mins.
Preheat the oven to 190°C/fan 170°C/gas mark 5
  3. Fill each pastry case three-quarters of the way up with jam. Add a raspberry to each, pushing it into the jam a little.
  4. Bake for 20-25 mins or until the pastry is golden. Be careful when you take the tarts out of the oven, as the jam will be hot and runny. Allow to cool and most importantly, enjoy!
