Winter has well and truly arrived, and as Britain faces its coldest winter in 50 years, it’s a good time to assess your wardrobe! There’s no need to hide inside; snow, gale force winds and sub zero temperatures are no problem with our Warm Welcome collection. Stay warm AND look cool this winter; read on for our editor’s top picks to see the arctic conditions through in style…
Cossington padded coat, Meryl intarsia jumper, Braemar quilted gilet, Huddle wool mix gloves, Berkley oversized scarf, Saskia faux fur hat, Toasty lined socks, Evedon bow detail wellies lined with Frida welly socks
The first rule of successful cold weather dressing is layering. A few thin base layers provide a great insulating base, and means you can easily remove a layer or two if you venture indoors. Wear a jersey top such as our Breton top, and layer with knitwear for extra cosiness. For maximum insulation layer in a quilted gilet beneath the all important padded coat.
You can leave your hat on; the head loses heat quicker than other body parts, and a good hat saves on wind swept hair dilemmas too. Our vintage look faux fur hat will keep your noggin cosy without compromising style.
It goes without saying you’ll be needing some gloves to brave the winter chill. Our wool mix Huddle gloves are longer length and fitted around the wrist to keep those draughts out. Wool repels water and insulates, so these gloves are also perfect for a spot of snow-ball fighting.
Last but not least in the accessory essentials; the oversized scarf. For maximum warmth go for a blanket scarf such as the Berkley or Heyford. Enough fabric to keep you well wrapped.
Toes are often the first thing to succumb to the cold, so look after those feet. Our chunky lined socks trap the warmth, while our wonderful wellies will keep those digits dry. For extra toasty toes wear our fleece welly socks with faux fur trim to keep the draught out of your boots.
