Smart and stylish, but will our Back to School collection get top marks?

‘Banish your children’s back to school blues with these beautiful and colourful coats. No longer will you have to fear doing a school run in the rain with these cheery coats. They’re lined and made with a waterproof rubberised fabric that will keep your children dry and snug. They will also brighten up any rainy day in the playground. Coming in a range of prints they are bound to impress even the fussiest of children. However, you may find that these coats are too cool to keep just for school! My two love them! Never before have they been so excited to go out in the rain. They tell me it’s so they can wear their pretty coats.’

‘I couldn’t believe that I’d finally found a raincoat that Archie Verity actually wanted to wear whilst scooting to Montessori on a rainy chilly morning. It’s the fun motifs he loves, and my 3-year-old truly believes that it will make him as strong as a lion and scoot like the wind. His mummy on the other hand, loves that it’s lined – cosy and warm, keeping out cold and raindrops with its robust rubber exterior which can be easily wiped clean. It also protects against those spontaneous puddle jumpsthat most little rascals enjoy as a pastime. We love its stylish little details and it goes with everything else in my little boy’s wardrobe- not that Archie cares remotely about that important factor.’

bloggers test out Joules back to school raincoats

‘With the temperamental UK weather, even in the height of summer it’s somewhat foolhardy to leave the house without a raincoat. As a family, we’ve long trusted Joules to keep us dry and warm with their fabulous coats and wellies. I rarely head out without my navy Coast waterproof jacket. It’s a firm favourite of mine. Recently, the boys took delivery of a Skipper Waterproof Coat each and we couldn’t be more pleased with them. Lightweight enough to roll up and fit in my handbag, warm enough (the jersey lined hood is a great feature) to stroll along the beach on colder days, and made from a rubber fabric resistant enough to stay dry during the heaviest of downpours (even if those downpours are caused by your brother turning the hosepipe on you). Personally, I love the bright colours and fun designs, it will make it easier for me to spot my boys when they inevitably run ahead on the school run come September.

The Skipper is the perfect transitional coat; great for rainy summer days but even better during the autumn months when it’s cool in the morning but not quite winter coat weather.’

‘School bags and stationery aisles, the fresh leather of new school shoes and the blank pages of exercise books; September heralds an exciting new academic year and the crisp beginnings of autumn too. Joules have us covered in both regards with their gorgeous range of Back to School childrenswear, in cosy brights that will see us through September and beyond. We love these Kinnaird and Cairn Packaway jackets – light enough to throw on over sweatshirts and pinafores, yet warm enough to withstand the cold winter mornings ahead. Perfect for school runs and lunchtime play, and cheery enough to make even the prospect of early morning Maths lessons seem that little bit less daunting!’

These outfits lool fantastic. Such a change to see such a variety of really colourful coats. The blogger kids look like they’ve enjoyed the modelling experience, too.
