A loyal bundle of energy, Montague has been part of the Crackle family for years. He’s a best friend of Emily Crackle and part of the ‘Famous Fur’. A group of pets consisting of Sausage, Montague, Paul and Molly.
It was at Christmas Eve. Emily had left out a mince pie and a glass of sherry for Father Christmas and a carrot for Rudolph. I remember running downstairs and wolfing it all down. I was very poorly in morning. Mummy Crackle said it was the sherry.
I tried to get one to stick. Patch, M-Dog, T-Bone… even Monty. As a puppy I used to go the park and learn how to play fetch, when Emily would call my name other dogs would laugh because I wasn’t called Rex or Buster. Then I grew up. The other dogs don’t laugh at at my name anymore.
What did you say? Food! Where? Woof! Sorry. Turkey? I’ll take a leg. Sorry! I get so distracted if anyone even mentions food. A couple of Christmases ago I couldn’t help myself. I snuck downstairs the night before Christmas Eve and went to take a big bite out of the turkey. I slipped and ended up in a rather embarrassing position. It took both Daddy Crackle and Tim to pull the big bird off my head.
Bark! The Herald Angels Sing!
What’s the most popular Christmas wine? I don’t like Brussels sprouts. I really don’t. I like meat. Woof!
I love building bases. After I’ve eaten and been for a walk. And then had a little nap. I like to build a base. Often Tim and Emily will help. The other day we built a brilliant base which was named ‘Montague’s Fort’. Tim made me wear jester’s hat, which I quite liked.
Montague stars in A Christmas Tale. A beautifully illustrated book that is available to buy at all Joules stores and online at joules.com. 100% of the profit from the sale of this book will also go to Charitably Joules.
