Men: What to Wear Now

6th March 2017

It’s March – notoriously one of the trickiest months in the calendar for knowing what to wear. In the morning you’re scraping frost off your car window, then you nip out for lunch and it’s surprisingly balmy and it in the evening it’s cold and wet.

Taking into account the fact that Mother Nature can’t make up her mind, we’ve put together two looks for men that will mean you’ll be able to start (and end) the day in style whatever the weather.

Look One

Start with our classic Five Pocket Jeans – a great starting point for any outfit they can literally be worn with anything. In this case though we recommend the Breton Jersey Top, perfect for right now and spot on for the summer months, it’s a timeless piece that seems to always be in style. Now for the layers – there are two options here.

The Go-To Gilet. The name of this piece says it all – it’s a layer you’ll find yourself turning to again and again. It’s an unfussy piece of cold weather kit that will look (and fit) just as good over a shirt, jumper or t-shirt as it will underneath a jacket. Option two – The Harley Biker-Style Bomber Jacket. This jacket has a slightly sporty yet contemporary feel. It’s perfect to throw on with a striped and jeans combination, it’ll keep the cold at bay when the temperature starts to tumble. The check lining ups the sartorial ante.

Look Two

If jeans aren’t your thing, switch them for our Chino Trousers – they are perfect for the spring and summer months – and then pair them with a good shirt. We could have chosen any of our shirts but settled on the Hewney Shirt. In an exceptional cut and classic fit, this crisp peached cotton shirt is a great option for any man. Then, if an extra layer of warmth is needed, we’d suggest the Retford Jumper – a bestselling style of ours for a few seasons now, it’s a classic piece you’ll find yourself becoming good friends with.

And now to the last (and maybe most important) piece – the coat. This new quilted jacket has been crafted from a metameric fabric. We’ll explain – the construction of this fabric means that depending on how the light hits it, the colour may change ever so slightly. And that’s not all; the lightly wadded exterior has been finished with suede trims and hides a quilted micro-fleece lining that makes this piece essential for outside jaunts during the cooler months.

So come rain or shine, these are style you can wear right now and all the way through the year – with a few tweaks here and there of course…
