Did you ever wonder how your mum just knew what you were doing or thinking? Perhaps you believed her when she told you she had eyes in the back of her head? If you’re a mum yourself it all falls into place (sort of), a sixth sense you never knew you had is revealed and you develop a finely-tuned ability to foresee danger and trouble. A skill that the most heroic Marvel character would approve of.
Our mums are our first teachers; they can read us like books (even when we’re daft enough to think that we’re much cleverer than them). Their job – and yours, if you’re a mum – is to inspire, guide, steer, keep safe, feed, fix, cajole but above all, love. They’ve been doing it since before day one, they know us inside out, they make us the people we are today.
With a bond that strong it’s no surprise that they’re a little bit of you and you’re a little bit of them.
Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy it, you’ve earned it.

06.03.2016 at 16:45my 28 year old Autistic son brought me toast and a (very strong) coffee on a tray for breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day, this is the first time he has been able to do it by himself. Tears to dilute the coffee!
