Our top Christmas film picks

christmas film 3

As the nights draw in and Christmas tiptoes nearer, there’s no better time to curl up on the sofa with the family and put on a good ol’ Christmas film. We’ve put together a list of some of our favourites that have each been recommended by one our wonderful staff. We hope you love them as much as we do!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the 1966 version) –

Olivia Holder, Content Copywriter

I do love the 2000 Jim Carrey version but it’s the original animation that has a special place in my heart. I can’t put my finger on what I love most about it but I watch it every year! It’s only 25 minutes long too so perfect for when you’re all tired out from wrapping presents.

Love Actually –

Amy Dunne, Product & Content Marketing Manager

Would Christmas really be Christmas without this classic? If you haven’t watched it, this year’s your year! It will make you cry I promise.

All I want for Christmas  –

Emily Clifton, Executive Assistant & Marketing Admin Co-ordinator

I watch this on repeat every Christmas! It’s about two siblings who plot to get their two parents back together for Christmas and is just full of funny moments and Christmas clichés.

The Holiday –

Carl Wiezak, Senior Copywriter

Two women swap homes in each other’s countries and each meet a local guy and fall in love. It’s cheesy, it’s Christmassy, it’s perfect. I watch it all year long even in the summer.

Klaus –
Rosie Bambury, Content Marketing Coordinator

Klaus was only released last year but it’s already become one of my Christmas classics! It’s all about a selfish postman and a reclusive toymaker who become friends and help bring some much-needed happiness to the town of Smeerensburg. I’m not going to say anymore because spoilers but this one’s a tear-jerker.

It’s a Wonderful Life –

Rebeca Leggat, Marketing Assistant Manager Shows

An oldie but I love it! There’s a reason this one is such a classic; it has all the feel-good vibes AND it’s set during Christmas. What more could you want?

Serendipity –

Alex Rizzuto, Campaign & Brand Marketing Manager

A bit of an under the radar one, but no Christmas goes by without me watching Serendipity. It’s set in New York during Christmas (of course), and is about a couple who fell in love and are trying to find each other again years later through an improbable but moving set of events. I love it.

The Snowman –

Heather Rignall, Multi Channel Marketing Assistant

One of the best Christmas specials there is! It’s so timeless and takes me right back to my childhood. The animation, the soundtrack, the story… it’s all wonderful, and that ending gets me every time.

The Muppet Christmas Carol –

Bethany Cowan, Marketing Co-ordinator Wholesale & Partners

How has nobody else mentioned this one yet?! This is honestly my favourite Christmas film, Charles Dickens as only the Muppets can tell it. Whether I’m singing along to the tunes or laughing at Miss Piggy, don’t mind me if you catch me watching it on repeat…

Home Alone –

Nick Perrett, Visual Merchandiser

Do I watch it for all the Christmassy feels or do I watch it to dream of owning a house like Kevin’s family? I guess we’ll never know but this is one I’ve loved ever since I was little and imagining myself fighting off robbers and bad guys. It just screams Christmastime.
