Dress Style Guide: The Dress Edit

31st March 2016

For many women searching for a perfect dress is like looking for a needle in a haystack. With that in mind we’ve created a wide variety of styles this season that are easy to wear and extremely versatile, taking you from day to night. From woven to jersey, hand-drawn prints to chambray and full skirts to tunics our fantastically flattering dresses fit your every need.

We asked two members of the press and two bloggers to pick out their favourites. Here’s what they said…

-Sarah-Rose Harrison, You

‘A trans-seasonal favourite nothing beats a classic day dress. Perfect for relaxed weekends this wear-everywhere Samara style is a great addition to your off-duty wardrobe. I love the self-tie belt detail for a flattering cinched waist. Wear yours pared back with trainers, for no-fuss casual cool.’

-Jess Edwards, Cosmopolitan

‘One piece dressing is my favourite kind. Fuss-free and as fancy as you want to make it – the Gracie dress really is a spring/summer staple.’

-Bunty Morton, Bunty Living

‘The Helena dress is a real celebration of chic summer style and what we love most about fashion during the warmer seasons. Think cream teas on the lawn at Wimbledon or picnics in the afternoon sunshine. With that gorgeous, vibrant floral print and gentle cinching at the waist, this elegant dress is sure to turn heads whether in a formal or casual setting.

I think its versatility is such a selling point as it could easily be paired with a beautiful hat and heels for an afternoon at Ascot, or teamed with a loose fitting cardigan and sandals for a romantic beach walk. Either way, I can definitely imagine this being a staple piece in my wardrobe this summer!’

-Caro Davies, The Twinkle Diaries

‘I think it’s safe to say that I love a stripe, and a floral. So combine the two and I’m in pattern heaven!

The Imelda woven dress ticks all the boxes for me. A shift dress with a difference! It’s the perfect combination of easy style and effortless chic — that can be worn so many ways. A printed, woven front with a soft denim back means our friend Imelda can adapt to any occasion.

I’d dress it up with heels and a statement necklace, for the perfect Christening or garden party outfit, or throw over leggings and wear with flats for the nursery-run.

This dress offers such great versatility and is one of those go-to pieces in my wardrobe that would get LOTS of wear!’

I love the Helena Crepe Woven Dress! Am thinking it would be perfect to wear to a wedding I’m going to in the summer. The Amelie Woven Dress is gorgeous too; very chic. Gotta love Joules’ dresses! X
